Present water tariffs are as follows :

• Rs.22.00 per KL above 50KL per 30 days.

1(b)

• Apartment/Colony/Office complex For Supply per KL Rs.22/-.

(B) Institutional Supply

• Rs.25/- per KL up to 30 KL per 30 days.
• Rs.30/- per KL above 30 KL per 30 days.

(C) Commercial Supply

• Rs.30/- per KL up to 30 KL per 30 days.
• Rs.35/- per KL above 30 KL per 30 days.

(D) Industrial Supply

• Rs.40/- per thousand Liters.

A connection can be applied in 3 ways :
1. Manual application submitted at Department 2. Online application on Web Portal(www.gmdwsb.nic.in) 3.Online application on Mobile App
Consequently upon submission of the ?Form? from his/her end, a survey will be conducted by the department to prepare an estimate. Aftermath of deposition of the estimated value, the consumer will be able to get the new connection.

In absence of water meter due to non availability of meter or damage of the same, which charge is levied to the consumers is termed as minimum charge or average charge. In case of meter damage, either minimum charge or average charge is taken into consideration (whichever is higher).

Minimum charge is calculated as per demand of water. The demand of water for different households will be different and it is worked out on the basis of survey, which is conducted at the time of new connection. For example: if a family has four persons (in case of minimum charge, family members cannot be less than 4) then at present their water bill will be Rs.75.00 per persons per 30 days. Similarly when a functional meter gets damaged, then average charge is worked out from the last three months? actual consumption of water.

Disconnection of water line is carried out when

• The consumer fails to pay water bill for two consecutive months.
• The consumer uses pump deliberately with the service line to get water.
• It proves that the meters are tampered by the consumer.
• Consumers? house is found inaccessible by the meter reader for several times without valid reason.
• Some consumers make business out of Guwahati Jal Board?s supplied water.

Disconnection of water line is carried out when

The consumer will have to approach GJB Office and apply for re-connection. The re- connection fee is Rs.500.00 for domestic (Individual), Rs.700.00 for domestic (Apartment), Rs.700.00 for Institutional, Rs.1000.00 for Commercial and Rs.2000.00 for Industrial connections.
